أجرى تشابي ألونسو مدرب ريال مدريد لقاء صحفياً للحديث عن لقاء ريال سوسيداد غداً على ملعب أنويتا في إطار منافسات الدوري الإسباني لكرة القدم.
وقال ألونسو في تصريحات نشرتها صحيفة “آس” الإسبانية: “بعد الاستراحة، حان وقت أنويتا، الأمر مرهق، الجميع يقدم أداء جيدًا، ولم يتعرض أحد للإصابة”.
وسئل ألونسو عن تصريح هانز فليك مدرب برشلونة والذي قال إن الغرور يقضي على النجاح: “نريد أن نكون ناجحين بصفات إنسانية، وأن يكون الجميع في قارب واحد، مستعدين للتجديف عند الحاجة، نبدأ بتحديات صعبة ونريد من الجميع أن يسيروا في نفس الاتجاه”.
وعلق ألونسو على حالة جود بيلينجهام: “أريد أن أكون متفائلاً بعض الشئ وآمل أن يكون جاهزاً قبل أكتوبر، إنه يتدرب بشكل جزئي دون احتكاك، يبذل مجهود كبير للتعافي، لنرى إن كان بإمكانه اتخاذ خطوات للأمام الأسبوع المقبل وسننتظره عند الشعور بالتحسن”.
وسئل ألونسو إذا كان التوقف كان إيجابياً أكثر من المعتاد: “الأهم هو وصول اللاعبين في الوقت المحدد وبصحة جيدة، كان لدينا عدد أكبر من اللاعبين هنا عن المعتاد، نحن بصدد مواصلة تعزيز صفوفنا”.

وعقب ألونسو حول قدرة فينيسيوس ومبابي ورودريجو اللعب معاً: “بإمكانهم ذلك، فعلوا ذلك منذ زمن طويل، هذا ليس مستبعداً، عدم نجاحنا في ذلك حتى الآن لا يذكر، لا يمكن استخلاص استنتاجات من ثلاث مباريات فقط”.
ورد ألونسو على تقارير تتعلق برغبة منتخب الأرجنتين للشباب في الحصول على ماستانتونو في كأس العالم للشباب المقبل: “إذا كان الأمر بيدنا فإنه سيبقى معنا”.
وحول موعد عودة كامافينجا وميندي أجاب ألونسو :”إدواردو في جدول زمني مشابه لبيلينجهام وقادر على فعل كل شئ وسيتم ضمه للقائمة قريباً، حصل على الضوء الأخضر وأمام ميندي بضعة أسابيع أخرى”.
وعن فريق ريال مدريد وإذا كان وصل للمستوى الذي يطمح له ألونسو :”مازالنا في طور البحث، نريد إجراء تغييرات وتشكيل فريق جديد، بدنياً نحن أفضل، هناك إيقاع معتاد باللعب كل ثلاث أيام ونحتاج للاعبين جدد”.
وأثنى ألونسو على كيليان مبابي بعد أدائه الممتاز مع فرنسا وريال مدريد وإذا كان هو القائد للفريق: “إنه في حالة ممتازة، كروياً وشخصياً، يتطلع بشوق لموسمه الثاني بعد أول مواسمه ويتقبل دوره، ليس بالضرورة أن يكون مبابي القائد فقط”.
وذكر ألونسو عن خطة اللعب بثلاث مدافعين: “كان ذلك لأن كأس العالم سياق مختلف عما عليه الآن، كنا بحاجة لخطة لعب، لا إلى بناء ما نريده الآن، لم نكن بحاجة لثلاث مدافعين مركزيين بل إلى لاعب وسط واحد، لم أنسى ذلك، لدينا خمسة مدافعين مركزيين وبالنظر لجودة اللاعبين يمكننا تحقيق ذلك، عدم حدوث ذلك في ثلاث مباريات ليس قاطعاً لان الطريق مازال طويل”.
وحول السبع مباريات الذين ينتظرهم ريال مدريد حتى فترة التوقف الدولي المقبلة وانطلاق الأبطال ومباراة الديربي: “لا أتعامل مع الأمر كذلك، كل مباراة مهمة للغاية ونقاط قد تكون حاسمة على المدى الطويل ويجب أن نعطي كل شئ وزنه”.
وأتم ألونسو حول خطة إدارة كارفاخال وأرنولد: “لحسن الحظ، لدينا منافسة قوية داخل الفريق، هناك تحديات وهم جاهزين، كذلك في مراكز أخرى، من يستحق المشاركة سيلعب وسيتكرر الأمر طوال العام”.
وختم حول البرازيليين الذين لم يتم استدعائهم للمنتخب وحالتهم البدنية وموقف إندريك: “لم يغيب فينيسيوس بسبب الإيقاف،رودريجو يتحسن أكثر فأكثر وإندريك قريب جداً وميليتاو يعود من إصابة طويلة ويتحسن أدائه عند اللعب، لن يبقوا هنا مرة أخرى ولكن إذا حدث ذلك، سيكون الأمر أفضل لكني أعتقد أن أنشيلوتي سيستدعيهم مجدداً”.

Manchester City have a wonderful chance to claim their third FA Cup victory under the leadership of Pep Guardiola at Wembley this afternoon.

Aged only 21, the Brazilian will only get better. That’s for certain. The £46m-rated, per Transfermarkt, youngster has established himself as one of Guardiola’s key players this season.
His displays are even more impressive when compared to those in a similar position across Europe’s top five leagues and European competitions over the past 365 days.
Indeed, Savinho ranks in the top 6% for progressive carries, progressive passes received, touches in the opposition penalty area, and successful take-ons when compared to other wingers per 90.
Furthermore, he also ranks in the top 11% for shot-creating actions and assists per 90, which indicates that he should start the cup final against Palace.
At the start of the season, Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson claimed that the 21-year-old could turn into a “superstar” after several encouraging displays.
Nine months later, Savinho’s City career has gone better than expected. If he can play a key role in the final this afternoon, he could use this to build on ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

Florian Wirtz is the name on everyone’s lips at Liverpool right now, with FSG having taken the lead in the race to sign the Germany international, who is also being courted by Bayern Munich.
That’s according to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, who broke the news this evening that the Bundesliga champions are fearful of Anfield, in fact growing resigned to the fact that the 22-year-old will join Liverpool if he switches club this summer.
Manchester City had a strong interest in bringing him in, but have taken a step back given that Wirtz’s employers are believed to value him in the ballpark of €150m (£126m).
However, Spanish sources believe the Reds would need to cash in on some existing quality in order to facilitate a move, and with Barcelona hoping to sign Luis Diaz, some differing cogs might fall into place.
While Darwin Nunez is also expected to depart Anfield, Diaz, 28, has been one of Arne Slot’s most important players, but should be sold this summer nonetheless.

Whether Liverpool would have the means to sign both Wirtz and Gordon after adding full-backs on both sides of the backline and with the ongoing need for a new striker remains to be seen. However, it’s unlikely all of this would happen.
Instead, Gordon could be signed as a contingency if things don’t fall into place regarding Wirtz, and the Newcastle man has enough quality to still prove an upgrade on the high-flying Diaz.
Gordon might not have had quite the same year as the 2023/24 campaign, in which his talismanic performances helped Newcastle through injury woes, sealing an individual accolade as United’s Player of the Year.
He hit 28 direct goal involvements, which is more than Diaz has ever achieved in a single campaign for Liverpool. Moreover, Gordon is four years younger than Anfield’s man, thus with plenty of scope for growth.
Of course, this isn’t to say he hasn’t enjoyed a good year on Tyneside, scoring nine goals and adding seven assists from 32 starts across all competitions.
He also ranks among the top 6% of attacking midfielders and wingers in the Premier League this season for successful crosses made into the penalty area per 90, as per FBref, which is a weapon Liverpool could certainly do with if they are to sign a recognised focal frontman this summer.
But his most interesting tool, aside from some immense physicality and athleticism, the cornerstones of his skill set, is his fluidity, used across different attacking areas since leaving Everton for Newcastle in a £45m deal back in January 2023.

As you can see, Gordon’s been ferried about the frontline during his time in Eddie Howe’s system, though it’s clear he’s at his rip-roaring best when in his natural left-sided berth, with blistering speed and tricky feet allowing him to get the better of even the meanest defenders on the continent.

How can Australian selectors leave Usman Khawaja out of fifth Test?
1 – Number of players older than Khawaja (35y, 18d at the start of this Test) to score two centuries for Australia in a Test match. Donald Bradman was 39 years and 127 days old at the beginning of the 1948 Test against India in Melbourne, when he scored 132 and 127*. Khawaja is also the oldest of the nine players to score centuries in both innings of an Ashes Test.179 – Khawaja’s partnership with Cameron Green, the second-highest fifth-wicket stand in the Ashes after the fall of the first four wickets for less than 100 runs. Matthew Elliott and Ponting added 268 after Australia were four wickets down for 50 runs at Headingley in 1997. The 179 runs scored by the Khawaja-Green pair is also the highest for any wicket in the current series.54 – Innings needed for Smith to complete 3000 runs in the Ashes, the second-quickest in terms of innings. Bradman was the fastest to the milestone, needing only 38 innings. Smith is also one of the eight players with 3000-plus Test runs against a single opponent, and the fifth to achieve it against England.
Chris Sale has been named an All-Star for the second straight year. This is quite the accomplishment for the 36-year old who hadn't been an All-Star since 2018 and missed the entirety of the 2020 season after having Tommy John surgery.
Sale isn't quite where he was last year when he won his first Cy Young, but it's still an impressive showing considering where he was just a few short years ago. Even more importantly, it's a chance for Sale to prove to his youngest kids that he's pretty good. Sale explained what his kids thought of him as a baseball player using a joke he stole from Jake Peavey.
"I remember Jake Peavy telling me one time and I felt like this a few years when I was going through it I remember him telling me when he had three sons at the time he's like my oldest son knew I was a bad—.
