It was a target they fell 16 runs shy of to end their hopes of tournament success.The Heat will either remain in Melbourne for Saturday’s final, or travel to Perth, to meet the victor of Wednesday’s second semi-final.

As duas equipes começaram o jogo sem muito ânimo. Sem o entrosamento necessário, tanto o Treze, como o Santa Cruz erravam muitos passes e poucas chances claras eram criadas.

Apesar da baixa qualidade do confronto, o Galo abriu o marcador. Em bola levantada na grande área, Juninho cabeceou e mandou para o fundo das redes.

Nos minutos finais o empate do Santa. Marcos Martins cruzou, a zaga deu bobeira e Pipico soltou a bomba. O goleiro deu rebote e Augusto fez o dele.

Na etapa final os dois times mexeram muito nas escalações e o Treze voltou com mais força. O Galo pressionava e chegou perto de retomar a vantagem, mas o goleiro Ricardo Ernesto foi o principal responsável por deixar tudo igual.
