Aftab Gul, Salman Butt’s lawyer, has withdrawn from the spot-fixing case against his client. “I don’t think the suspended players will get justice, so I have withdrawn,” Aftab said.The ICC had on Friday set up a three-man tribunal to hear the spot-fixing allegations against Butt, Mohammad Amir and Mohammad Asif from January 6 to 11 in Doha, Qatar. Having this hearing is all a drama,” Aftab said, according to the .Khalid Ranjha, another of Butt’s lawyers, told that Beloff had already showed his intention by rejecting the appeals. However, Shahid Karim, Amir`s lawyer, said he was ready to defend his client in the final hearing even if their objection against Beloff`s presence was not accepted.The three players were provisionally suspended by the ICC in September for their alleged involvement in the spot-fixing controversy during the Lord’s Test. In a sting, Mazhar Majeed, a player agent, claimed to have paid Amir and Asif to bowl no-balls to order with the collaboration of Butt. The players lodged appeals against their suspensions, though Asif eventually withdrew his, and they were heard in Dubai in October. Beloff, who chaired the hearing, rejected their appeals, following which the PCB proceeded to revoke their central contracts.The hearing of the appeals was only meant to establish whether or not the ICC followed the correct procedures in provisionally suspending the players, and not their innocence or guilt. The trio face the possibility of criminal charges in the UK, and evidence gathered by Scotland Yard has been passed on to the Crown Prosecution Service.

أكد الفحص الطبي الذي خضع له لاعب منتخب فرنسا، لوكاس هيرنانديز، منذ قليل إصابته بقطع في الرباط الصليبي.

وكانت فرنسا قد بدأت حملة الدفاع عن لقبها في كأس العالم، بمواجهة أستراليا مساء أمس في الجولة الأولى، حيث فازت بنتيجة 4-1.

ولكن ما عكر صفو ليلة الديوك هو إصابة لوكاس هيرنانديز واضطراره إلى الخروج في الدقيقة 9.

وأبدى ديدييه ديشامب، مدرب منتخب فرنسا، تشاؤمه في التصريحات التي تلت المباراة، حيث أشار إلى مدى قوة الإصابة.

ويبدو أن حدس ديشامب كان صحيحًا، حيث ذكرت صحيفة “ليكيب” الفرنسية في خبر عاجل منذ قليل أن لوكاس هيرنانديز لن يشارك في أي مباريات أخرى خلال المونديال الحالي.

وأوضحت أن هيرنانديز خضع بالفعل للفحص منذ قليل، والذي أثبت وجود قطع في الرباط الصليبي للركبة اليمنى، وسيغيب عن باقي مشوار منتخب بلاده في البطولة.

أعلن نادي مانشستر يونايتد الإنجليزي، في بيان رسمي اليوم الثلاثاء، فسخ عقد النجم البرتغالي كريستيانو رونالدو.

وكان من المفترض أن ينتهي عقد اللاعب صاحب الـ37 عامًا مع الشياطين الحمر عام 2023.

ولكن رونالدو تسبب في ضجة كبرى في الفترة الأخيرة بعد تصريحاته الهجومية ضد مانشستر يونايتد وإدارة النادي والمسؤولين والمدرب إريك تين هاج.

The former England opener followed up scored of 188 not out against Kent and 228 not out against Essex with another powerful exhibition as Somerset ran up 287 for 4. Arul Suppiah made 54 and Nick Compton 45.Play did not start until 1.10pm because of rain, but only 15 overs were lost. Durham’s bowlers faced a tough task maintaining line and length in a strong gusty wind, but stuck to their task well, Dale Benkenstein removing Compton and Trescothick for figures of 2 for 17 from three overs.Trescothick won the toss and elected to take first use of a green looking pitch, which as is so often the case at Taunton, did not offer as much assistance to the seamer as its appearance suggested. The Verdict: No-brainer

To get a player of Dybala’s quality for free is surely a no-brainer, perhaps regardless of whatever his potentially remarkable wage demands are.

Hailed as ‘world-class’ by former Premier League goalkeeper Paul Robinson, the Argentina international has won as many as five Serie A titles with the Old Lady, as well as many other accolades (Transfermarkt).

He has over 200 combined goals and assists for club and country over the course of his career so far, and at 28 years of age, is still at the peak of his powers.

Nonetheless, bringing him in through the door on Tyneside would certainly send out a big message to the rest of the world that the Magpies mean business.
